The Mead High School agriculture program has been very successful, teaching agriculture production for many years. Leadership education has been a tradition of the exemplary Mead FFA chapter. The program boasts several National and State FFA officers and award winners. They have recently won state competition and qualified for national competition in both FFA Farm Management Contest and National Land Judging Contest. Many Mead High School graduates are highly successful in agriculture production as well as in other agricultural businesses. It is with this tradition in mind, that the school began plans to re-invent Agricultural Education with M.E.A.D (Making Education in Agriculture Different.)

Students begin the program with Agricultural Literacy. This is taken in the 9th grade and is also offered by a distance learning program. Agricultural Entrepreneurship and/or Employment in Agribusiness are taken in the 10th grade. Students have choices of many specialized agriculture classes offered in the 11th and 12th grades.

The M. E. A. D. instructional program contains five career-cluster tracks which students may select before their junior year.
